Does coffee count as water consumption?!

Question: does tea?
fruit?
soup?

Answers: does tea?
fruit?
soup?

Well sure. Anything you eat with water in it counts, and that's about everthing.

I don't understand all this concern about how much water is enough. The bodies thirst feedback circuit works quite nicely most of the time. Just drink when you're thirsty or when you want too. No need to count how much you're drinking.

The exception is when you're exercising and sweating heavily. Then you need to drink more whether you're thirsty or not, as the feedback seems to lag in this instance.

Use your urine color as a guide. Pale yellow is just right. Dark yellow, dehydrated. Clear, too much water.

all of these things contain water so yeh, they technically count as water consumption. dont be drinking 64 ounces of coffee each day and think you're getting enough water. all of these things that aren't pure water have other substances in them that make them what they are. the other substances are the extract you are also putting in ur body.

Not unless it's decaf. Coffee dehydrates us because it's a diuretic. If you drink decag coffee and tea with no milk or sugar you can count it as a water.
Juice yes BUT remember...we should NEVER drink our calories!

to a degree yes. It is mostly water. Fruit counts a lot more since it's makeup is 70% water. Soup is good too. It is easier for you digestive system. Tea is a good source. Also, you can add flavors to water if you are having a hard time drinking it plain. Don't just rely on these other forms of water. Drink a few bottles too.

It depends on who you talk to.

I was reading an article on msn that talked about the 8 glasses of water a day. It said that coffee, tea and anything else that has water in it could be considered part of the 8 glasses a day.

I've also read articles that say it must be 8 glasses of pure water.

Maybe something in between both is more appropriate.

Yes. It all does. Caffiene is dehydrating,(In teas and coffees) and so is salt in sodas, soups, ect so you won't get as much benefits from having a bowl of hot, salty soup vs plain, clear water.

water consumption is good and helps hydrating your body
coffee dehydrates
Fruit is good and hydrates

Any fluids you drink or foods you eat count as some water consumption.

Coffee and tea are also diuretics as well. Diuretics cause you to excrete more water as well. So if you drank coffee and tea exclusively you would need to intake more water to counteract the diuretic effects.

Soup or any other salty food count as water as well, but their high sodium count, again causes your body's water carrying capacity to rise, therefore you need more water to stay properly hydrated.

Fruit on the other hand is probably the perfect source of dietary water, high in vitamins and minerals and low in sodium, Heck, I think I'll grab an apple right now!

I always tell my clients in order to improve their diet and lose weight or tone, they need to "Eat more water" so eating foods high in water content such as fruit and vegetables helps control their diets and gives them a healthier body.

I hope I could help.

it should
