Can someone please explain why on the Atkins diet you minus sugar alcohol from t!

Question: The Atkins Diet is based on junk science, and it focuses too much on weight loss while ignoring other health issues. If it were a healthful diet, Atkins dieters wouldn't be constipated all the time and having to take fiber supplements and laxatives. The goal should not be to avoid carbs. The goal should be eat lots of healthful carbs, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Atkins dieters too often skip the fruits and veggies, and they overdose on bacon cheeseburgers. Anyway, the answer to your question is that sugar alcohols don't affect your blood sugar as much as some other sugars, but if you eat natural sugars in fruits and veggies, you're getting good sugars, along with the fiber, anti-oxidants, nutrients and water that are in the fruits.

Just forget about the Atkins diet. It's junk science and junk food.
