Why does my girlfriend only do number 2's every 2 to 3 days?!

Question: Hi, my girl friend only does a poo every 2 or three days, sumtimes 4 and wakes up sum nights with stomach pains, she sais this has been happening for as long as she can remember, she saw a doctor about it years ago. laxatives seem to have no effect unless she takes a lot!
She told me she drinks plenty of water every day and i know she has a healthy diet, plenty of veg etc. she also has poor circulation, she gets ice cold feet and hands, maybe that has something to do with it, plus she does go bright red and gets exhausted if we try to do any jogging as well. she is normal weight and only 21. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as it worries me and doctors these days dont seem to know jack! thanks!

Has she ever been tested for hypo throidism? It can cause the cold hands and feet, poor circulation, hair loss, depression, and yes, constipation! There are meds her doctor can prescribe if her thyroid is not producing the proper amount of hormones. Get her blood tested for the thyroid.

i do number 2's twice a month :D and number one 20 times a day ;d

Maybe she needs more fiber in her diet.

A few things contribute to bowel regularity:
1. Diet - need lots of fiber and water
2. Exercise - to get everything moving
3. Stimulants - laxatives, caffeine

It sounds like like she has tried all these things to an extent, but maybe not the right combination or amount. Especially with the poor circulation thing, it sounds like she needs to do more cardiovascular exercise, like running. Getting bright red is not a bad thing, it's natural. Just take it easy at first. Brisk walking is fine at first, and has the same effects on the bowel movement situation.
Hope this helps, good luck.

She doesn't eat enough fiber. And as for the jogging problem, just because you arn't over-weight doesnt mean your not out of shape. So i suggest working your way up to a good jog every now and then. Poor circulation has noything to do with any of this but i understand your concern.
