How could I get fat?!

Question: I'm 5'6 and 14 years old and weigh 98lbs. I want to get fatter but I cant seem to do it.

I eat a lot of meat,my family and friends even call me a carnivore at times.I dont quite excercise alot,I eat fast food like twice a week and I eat more then what my average weighted friends eat.

Both my parents were thin when they were at my age.I dont know if this has anything to do with me being thin.

by the way I'm not anorexic.

you just have a high metabolism, its nothing to worry about. but don't eat junk food and fast food, just because you think you need to gain weight. it doesn't matter who you are, those kinds of foods aren't healthy. so try eating veggies and fruits along with red meats, that have higher calories that lean meats. starches are good too, most people have to eat them in moderation, but you can't eat them... so feel privileged. also, you're higher metabolism can slow down when you get older, so practice healthy eating now, so you know how to eat when you get older.

p.s. metabolism is how fast your body breaks down and uses food. you have a high metabolism so your body does this very quickly, so you don't gain the extra weight

let me guess eat

trust me, being skinny is a heck of a lot better than being fat, you should just live with the way your body is, instead of trying to change it

Meat is full of protein, most of the people I know who eat mostly meat, are skinny (or close to it). Try adding some carbs to your diet. Since you're young you probably have a fast metabolism so gaining weight might not come easy, but usually carbs do the trick.

Well eating alot of red meat and fast food is not the healthy to gain weight. You might visit your local health nutrition shop and inquire of some type of meal supplement shake that is alot more healthier and would probaby help your muscle mass, assuming your working out?

im glad you wanna put on weight try drinking alot of food drinks like milk or chocolate milk and eat things you might enjoy like cakes chocolate but try not to eat too much fast food cuz its bad for your health you can buy those type of drinks

Being too skinny with no curves at all can be just as traumatic as being overweight. If your parents were as thin as you at your age, chances are that there isn't a whole lot you can do. I've had friends under 100 lbs who just couldn't seem to gain weight no matter what they did. If its possible, I would see talk to your doctor about your concerns, either they or a dietician may be able to reccomend a meal plan or special supplements to gain weight. You're also 14, and chances are good that you'll put on a little more weight throughout puberty, your 20's, and definitely when you have kids. If you're self-conscious about having skinny arms/legs, you may want to start a weight-training routine to add muscle mass. This is better than just eating fast food because it is healthy weight.
