Will running 15-30 mins daily help me lose 15 lbs in 3 months?!

Question: :)

Answers: :)

Absolutely. Running is one of the most vigorous exercises you can do. Running is an extremely efficient way to burn calories and drop pounds.

But bear in mind if you hope to lose weight by running, remember that you will only shed pounds if you burn more calories than you consume. To lose a pound your have to burn through exercise or daily life functions about 3,500 calories. So you will need to combine running with a healthy diet.

Keep junk foods, ready made meals you buy in the supermarket, alcohol, and takeaway meals to an absolute minimum. These are high in refined sugar and high in saturated fat. They add pounds to the waistline.

I managed to lose 48lbs in just over 5 months. I ran regularly in the gym on the treadmill for 30 minutes or more, 4/5 times a week. I still do, but also now jog outside.

I wish you lots of good luck.

no

As long as you don't eat as many cakes.

Nope, you have to mix it with resistance exercises and a healthy diet. I suggest adding push ups and sit ups to your daily routine thats like an extra 10 minutes.

Definitely, as long as you are eating a balanced healthy diet as well! Run your heart out girl!

yes it will HELP but no it won't do it all
cut back on sweets and add more fruits and veggies

It might but unlikely.
Most recommend getting your heat beat up to 130 beats per minute for 30 - 45 minutes straight. Generally 3 to 4 times a week is recommended.

I lost a 6 times that in a year and a half... and that's because i go to the gym 7 days a week and am there for no less than 45 minutes a day.

But of course.. 15 - 30 minutes of activity is better than NO activity at all. Try it out. Adding physical fitness into your daily routine is a good thing!

Okay... here is a story that might help you get inspired.
There was this boy that I knew and he was overweight trying to loose weight. He had no money because his family was poor; he lost weight by following the food chart and eating everything on that chart everyday (including the meat.) And he exercised everyday. He finally lost the weight WITHOUT PAYING FOR DIET PLANS. So I guess run with this idea. Glad I could help.

Try 30-60 minutes. You have to go into overload or overdrive (I forget what it's called) which is when you feel like quiting, but you must continue. If it doesn't do that, then you're not going to lose weight. When it gets too easy, you increase it. You also have to have a good diet. Don't drink sports drinks, drink water or else it'll deplete a lot of the exercise you just did. You should only drink sports drinks if you exercise for an hour and a half continuously or more. Good luck.

P.S. You have to find your target heart rate for exercising and if you don't reach it, you're wasting your time.

Here's how you find it:
1. Find your resting heart rate per minute. (Find it in your wrist or neck/jaw area. Don't use your thumb because it has it's own pulse.)
2. Subtract your age from 220 (this is to find your maximum heart rate. Don't go above this number)
3. Subtract step 1 from step 2. (220-resting heart rate)
4. Multiply step 2 by 60%
5. Multiply step 2 by 85%
6. Add step 1 & 4 together
7. Add step 1 & 5 together

Step 6 & 7 will tell you what your target heart rate should be.

hmm .. im trying to get slim too.. and i dont think you could lose that much in 3 months.. oh.. just dont eat as much as before and try to jog 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the afternoon

It's not just as easy as that.

You need to combine a healthy diet with a proper exercise regime. Cardiovascular and resistance training and be prepared for the plateau effect when you don't seem to lose any more weight and that's when you need to change your exercise regime.

Check out your recommended daily allowances for calories, fat and salt. Stick to a routine but vary the menu so you don't get bored.

Depending on where you need to lose the weight, you may have to target specific areas for extra attention.

Ask at your local leisure centre or Gym and a fitness instructor will get you started on the right trail.

Good Luck!

It all depends if this is the right exercise for your body, Running is an extremely good way of burning fat however you need to find out the best exercise or fat burning method for you, try a few, swimming, aerobics, sport ect.

Of course it will , any exercise will help .

But the most important thing is your diet .

Good Luck
