Whats the difference between isolation and compound exersice?!

Question: isolation targets one muscle group specifically without using many stabilizers or synergists. an example is the preacher curl. the whole movement basically works ur bicep(forearm a little).
a compound exercise uses two or more muscle groups for the movement. an example is bench press. ur shoulders and chest go into the pressing movement and ur triceps are used to lock it out. compound exercises are not just the power moves though. dumbbell rows work back/shoulder. u will fnd that most exercises are compound.
compound exercises are definitely the best for strength and size gains.
