Hello im 105 pounds and 5.7 am i skinny?!


Question: i hate it when people call me skinny, because i dont see my self as skinny i've got a kinda buldging belly, which makes me think im normal, and i dont know how to keep my belly flat, but many people think im too slim. can you help

If you could provide metric wieghts then I'd be able to tell you more precisely. However, girls and women are supposed to have sticky-out bellies as that is where our reproductive organs are. We are not supposed to have flat bellies so yours probably doesn't stick out as much as you think. If you focus on it then it will seem bigger. If people say you're thin then you probably are. You've probably got a faster thryroid than other people or excersise a lot or both. Lots of people would do anything to be skinny so take it as a complement:-)

I'm considered skinny at 5'3" and 110 lbs, you are definetly skinny! I know what you mean about the belly though. that seems to be the hardest thing to get rid of no matter how thin you are.... do crunches.

well yes i would deffo say your skinny. im about 5.7 and i weigh 154 which is 11 stone...i wouldn't say i was Fat, overweight yes but still you are skinny.

For the belly:
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture, for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you will damage your back and spine!
Slowly move the upper part of your body back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times.
Every week add to the number of repetitions.
You will see the results in a week, guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat - if you have any - six pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these crunches - I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

i'm 5'7 and about 100lbs and considered 'too thin' quite often. but i know what you mean about the belly because although i dont have any fat there i get bloated so easily, damned starvation mode. do you eat much? if you eat <800 calories then your bodies probably in starvation mode, so whenever you eat you bloat, if not then i'm not sure, i do lots of situps and crunches and that helps to a certain extent. anyway, i don't really know what i'm getting at but you are thin!

You should really be trying to gain weight. At 5ft 7ins you are severely underweight. Are you eating healthily? You should really talk to your doctor about your concerns, as it sounds like you may have developed body dysmorphic disorder if you are imagining that your belly is bulging at such a low weight. Anorexia has the highest death rate of any mental illness - so please don't allow yourself fall into that trap. Good luck!

Your BMI is indeed under average, suggesting you are marginally underweight. I suspect you might need to increase your calorie intake very marginally, but take a lot more exercise to compensate and improve your muscle tone.
