For all the people who want to whine about their weight...?!

Question: Why can't you just be happy w/ being healthy?! I see so many people on here worrying about if they are too skinny or overweight. Also...why is it that people with eating disorders are felt sorry for when an obese person is looked at as being disgusting? Anorexic people could gain weight just as easy as a fat person could put a fork down.(We've all heard anorexia/bulimia is a mental problem...I don't want that for an answer) What are your thoughts on this? 10 pts. best answer.

Unfortunately, women especially, have been told by media and the beauty industry that we need to look/act/be a certain way. And we buy it. How many women use makeup? Do we need it to survive? Nah, not really. But it's ingrained in our heads that we need it. How many people want to acheive that "tan, sunglossed glow"? Sad when here in the US, we want to be darker, and in Asian and African countries, they sell products for bleaching the skin to make it whiter. It seems that human nature is never happy with what it has, it always wants something more?? We are always striving for a "perfect number" on the scale, that elusive goal weight that will make us happy if we reach it. If only we were like the "ideal people" on Tv and advertisements. I do believe that more people are starting to look at being healthier as opposed to a goal weight, but that idea is slow in shifting.

I'm really not sure why someone who is obese is "disgusting" opposed to someone who is anorexic is "pitied" Maybe we think of all the starving children from other countries and equate that image in anorexics? Or maybe that they have a disease, or are too poor to afford food, while an obese person is more of a glutton, doing nothing but stuffing their face. Which isn't always the case. Sometimes it isn't always as easy as putting the fork down.
Thanks for listening to my ramblings...

okay..its not a mental problem..its an emotional battle!
