I have 3 months to get in shape...is it possible...help help help?!

Question: I'm female. I am 5'2" and weigh 118lbs...I am not fat, but am really out of shape and have no tone. I would like to get back in shape...I played 2 sports in college and want to get rid of my flab and tone up. I am in school full time and I work full time, so I only have about 45 minutes - 1 hour per day to work out. I am going to Hawaii in 3 months and would like to feel comfortable in shorts and a swimsuit again. I own a treadmill and have 5lb weights...any help to get in shape and suggestions would be great. Do you think it's possible to get toned and see noticible results in 3 months? Any help would be great.

treadmill and weights are good...but you won't see the results it sounds like you're expecting in 3 months...you will also need to eat properly. In my opinion, as you stated that you are really out of shape you'll need more like 6 months.

Lifting light weights with many reps is great for toning up and continue with cardio afterwards. here is an answer I gave to another girl saying she wanted to lose weight (it might help you tone up)

106 (Level 1) For youre workout lift light weights many times for a more trim body then do cardio after. THe reason you want to lift first is so youre body will burn the food you ate recently, then cardio will burn the fat you have currently. Also lifting weights builds muscle (obviosly) and muscle burns calories even when you aren't doing anything (basal metabolic rate) the bigger muscles consume more calories and those muscles are your leg muscles. (Another possitive to weight lifting is it gives women a nice shape, and usually guys like that more that a girl that are just bones.) Doing cardio only burns fat when youre actually doing cardio. But, it does help lose weight faster. Also drink a lot of water because it will help you lose water weght because you're body won't store the water you consume if it knows you are getting enough water. Doing all of this also increases youre metabolism which burns calories at rest (basal metabolic rate). Don't starve yourself, it doesn't work because your body will go into a starvation mode which means your body knows you aren't getting enough food so the food that you do eat youre body will automatically store it as fat. When you are on a normal diet youre body burns all the food you eat, but depending on how active you are you're youre body will store the food you didn't burn as fat. The best way to lose weight is to eat healthy an eat 5-6 small meals day NOT 3 BIG ONES!!! If you eat less more frequently it's easier for youre body to burn it off. Good luck!

Yoga and meditation, that way you'll feel better than you could about yourself even if you are not rock solid. If you tone up and carry yourself with confidence you'll be one hot babe. Three months is plenty of time if you're disciplined. Drop the carbs and think about happiness it will go a long way. Good luck.
