Do you run? Why? If you stopped why? If you never have why?!

Question: I had always wanted to run well because I was so bad at school. Finally in August/ September last year I started. Now after a few problems I can run 20mins non-stop 3 times a week, and am moving up slowly to 30mins 3 times a week. I dont see me stopping as it is such an easy way to keep fit. I just wanted to know how others had done.

Yes, I do run. I run six miles daily (except when I'm traveling or when the weather is bad - rain, too cold).

I've always run even before I joined the military and when I came out, I continue and now that I'm almost 50 I still run.

It is cheap, you don't have to spend any money to run at your local park or elementary school field. You don't need any special equipment other than your running shoes and cloths.

It is always refreshing to go out in the morning and run and play tennis in the evenings.

You're on the right right. Don't even think of stopping. If you're like me, you would probably pick up some good friends along the trail.

Good luck.

wow is this an investigation?! You made me dizzy! No I don't run, I don't need it.

yeah running feels good. not while you're doing it but after you feel good about yourself.

I did it for awhile and I was running 20 minutes a day 3 times a week and then I quit because I was doing it on a treadmill and it got boring. When the weather gets warm again I am going to start doing it outside.

No,and I never will.
I get bored easily.
And I much prefer swimming to keep fit- tones the whole of you body.
x

I don't run because I have a severe case of asthma (inhaler does NOTHING). I take long power walks instead.

-well what keeps me goin is an ipod shuffle (the new one it;s light and holds like 300 songs)
-mentally its a huge stress reliver for me with all my honors and ap classes

No I never ran that was for the track kids
I never felt any need. I get where I am going by walking.

I used to run. I stopped because I got extremely lazy. But I am going to start running again in the summer because right now, here, its about 1 degree Fahrenheit and falling. Too cold to run. But good job to you for running. Its actually a very hard thing to do and does keep you pretty fit. Good running! I can't wait to start.

I've gone through phases with my running - but like you I have to keep at it consistently or I lose momentum and can't run as well. Sometimes I slack a bit during the winter but I've found at that as long as I'm doing some kind of aerobic activity (even a stationary bike or elliptical) it keeps my body burning calories and in shape. I also think it helps me feel good mentally.

running doesn't feel good while i'm doing it..but at the end i feel GREAT!!
it feels good to know i did it.
i exercise Mon-Fri 50 minutes a day = 560 calories
i run b/c i am only 4.5 lbs from my healthy weight
i lost 38.5 lbs so far :)

Yes I do run.
Some one was chasing me.
I stopped because they quit chasing me.

every morning i USED to run for about 30 mins from 5 o clok to 5:30 ( its good time to get FRESH air) then when i go to skool i feel great, im focused in class, i get higher grades, i learn very easy and u dont feel sluggish as i used to when i didnt run. and during the day i feel like i have more energy

I run whenever I am outnumbered by 200+ to 1 Iraqi "insurgents" or Syrian sympathisers till I find a good cover position, then launch a counter attack.

That's cool.
I enjoyed running a lot as a kid. I haven't really ran much since 9th grade gym class. I do aerobic videos and have lost 40lbs.
I plan on starting to run in the spring. I walk everywhere I go, I find myself now running a bit just to get it done quicker.
I'm hoping it's going to get me down the 10-20lbs I have left. It's cheap, you can do it anywhere, anytime. There's always room outside to get moving.I would never be able to run on a treadmill day after day.
