When you drink or take in extra protein, that dosent get used in working out to build muscle, it gets stored away as fat, the body dosent want to get rid of that protein cause its very useful for it. Protein shakes would definately make you fat because they have a higher source of protein that is specially made for building muscle and its expected to be used to work out with, but if the person dosent work out and drinks them, they will just get fat.

It will bulk you up if you workout as well. You can lose weight but need to balance it out with fruits and vegetables

Heavy workouts designed to build muscle do require extra protein. The body doesn't really care how it's delivered. Expensive protein supplements or cheap chicken or tuna. All the same to the body.

Energy not burned in the course of daily living and workouts, is stored as fat or muscle. Fibrous residue is excreted in the usual manner.

Excessive protein can cause excessive cortisol and myostatin production which actually robs you from gaining muscle. 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight a day is good enough. Don't eat more than 2 grams per pound though.

extra protein gets stored as fat.. just like most other calories... yes take one gram per pound that u weigh...
