Can you make up from splurges or is that bad?!

Question: At my present weight, I can eat 1500 calories a day and expect to lose two pounds a week.

My friends and I get together to go out to eat and see a movie or something. If I splurge that day, would it work to "make up the calories" over the next day or two?

For example, say I ate 2500 calories one day. If I ate 500 the next, is that okay because the average of the two days is 1500? Or does it not work that way?

You see, things don't always work out the way we want them to simply because the math fits.

Do not under any circumstances eat less than 1200 calories in any day. In fact as you're eating 1500 calories I suggest you stay there.

For the day you binged. Good for you. Don't worry about it, these things happen. Just make sure you don't go nuts like that again.

If it helps, try doing an extra bit in the gym the next day.

It's fine if you splurge once and a while, just go on with your diet, the eating less calories won't do anything except get you inot 'starvation' mode, just make sure you eat the same calories and be healthy.

it won't work because for that day that you eat only 500 calories, then the next day your body will except to consume only 500 and when you eat 1500 calories, you will gain weight.

Nope it doesn't work that way. you can exercise it off though. But it isn't healthy to vary your eating like that. 500 cals isn't enough and that will jack with your metabolism.
