Is it true that Diet Soda (Diet pop) causes weight gain? Why?!

Question: Explain.

Answers: Explain.

the artificial sweeteners they use supress the thyroid and can cause long term weight problems.....also the high frutose corn syrup in regular soda can also cause the same problems......but artificial sweeteners can cause much more than weight gain......they are very harmful to the nervous system and can cause all kinds of trauma to the body later in life.....don't drink that stuff!!

You gain water weight. It isn't substantial amounts but these types of drinks contain sodium which in return causes you to retain water, thus, thinking you have gained weight. Try to drink as much water as you do pop.

oh yes the chemical it carry's

yes due to the fact that more chemicals/sugars are added to diet soda than regular

There is speculation that it may. I haven't heard enough about it to explain why. I know that ever since I stopped drinking any kind of soda, I have llost weight. For me, carbonation causes me to bloat up, even if it;s a diet soda.

You also have to realize that it seems every other day "someone" thinks they have discovered that something we all take to solve a problem, could now be creating a new problem. It's life in the big city. Moderation is always a safe bet.
