It will actually lower your metabolism.. Not eating or skipping a meal causes your body to go into starvation mode... If you skip one meal, your body basically thinks that it's not going to eat again, so the next meal you do eat, your body will store all that food as fat cells... This in fact will lower your metabolism.

If you want to boost your metabolism, you actually NEED to eat... I eat 5 small meals a day, and snack on some fruit and veggies if I get hungry... I also go to the gym about 4-5 times a week for at least an hour each time... i've been doing this for years now, and have stayed in great shape.

B'fast is actually the most important meal of the day.. it's your fuel for the day!

You should eat a light breakfast and workout to get your metabolism started. Otherwise your body will try to conserve energy if you don't eat anything.

Yes you will burn calories, but it will not boost your metabolism unless you ate breakfast after working out. To lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you take in but if you eat too few calories, anything under 1000 calories, you will actually slow your metabolism down instead of speeding it up. Also, most exercise people would say to do weight training than cardio to really boost your metabolism while eating small meals every two to four hours.

No, it will lower your metabolism because you are not eating right. Breakfast kick start your metbolism!

No, you'll just be really tired all day. Of course you'll burn calories, but it won't boost your metabolism at all.

Just eat breakfast and then work out. Your body needs breakfast.

NO! Skipping meals, which for some idiotic reason is popular amognst young women will slow your metabolism down. Your best bet is to get up, exercise, eat a wholesome breakfast and if you have to ship any meal, make it your last of the day. If you want to burn calories, you need to stimulate your body by exercise for example, but to keep your 'engine' running you need fuel (food).

It's a process food - exercise - food - exercise. Whatever you do, don't skip breakfast. If you starve yourself the first source of energy your body will go for is your muscle tissue. Bodyfat is your body's emergency fuel. It will use it last before anything else. If anything, skipping meals will leave you less energetic, will lead to mild depression and a craving for sugary or fatty foods (mood boosters) to compensate. So in effect you will create a 'yo-yo' diet pattern and actually get flabbier.

Nooo!! Skipping meals will do the exact opposite. It will slow down your metabolism because your body will store fat you eat at your next meal. Make sure you eat a nutritious breakfast before you work out.

A good way to speed up your metabolism is eating little healthy meals every couple hours.
