Dieting, and temptation.?!

Question: Hi,
I'm 14 years old, and am trying to lose weight. I know I shouldn't be worrying about it at my age, but I truly believe it will help my self-esteem issues. I'm 5'2 and about 115lbs (not overweight, but far from my ideal weight).
I am currently on a diet, but I always either give up and go back to eating too much, or I go too far and starve myself. I don't do much excercise, probably an hour (3 times a week).

What do you suggest that I do to adopt a HEALTHY lifestyle and diet, that won't be damaging to my body, and that I can resist temptation from foods such as chocolate and cake?
I want to lose about 1lb/2lb a week and be down to about 105lbs by April.

Thank you to anyone who can help.

Hi, first of all say no to any form of diet and start eating healthy instead. Secondly if you have self esteme issues this doent come from food it comes from within. If you have low self esteme and losing weight that will be fine for a bit till you find something else you dont like about yourself. You are a young girl/woman at a difficult stage and the best thing for you to do is seek help in building your confidence first and discuss why you have the issues you have about yourself. I bet when you are happy within, the rest will just fall into place
You are getting to the stage and probably already going through puberty and messing with your intake of food will seriously have an effect on your body and mind as it does with all people. I have been on fad diets and all that and beleive me it if just a long spiral of disappointment and the best way, the only way to a fantastic mind and body is to eat healthily. Plenty of good stuff and you can still have the naughty stuff too! Keep up the exercise and that will help too. But please remember there is no happiness in trying to please or fit in with others because you will never find the true you. Find out what you want, be who you want to be and get that confidence in yourself so you can be happy with who and what you are and the rest will just be a bonus. Good luck
