How do you motivate yourself to diet and excersize?!

first you have to consider how important the diet is to you. ask your self "would i rather lose weight or have this cheeseburger?" this will help you realize how important it is to you. you also need to find other activities to occupy your time because people tend to eat when theyre bored. go for a walk, read a book, take a bubble bath when you feel the need to eat when your bored. when a craving hits, drink a cup of water first and this will give you time to think about eating something healthy like fruit instead of diving for a bag of potato chips. hope this helps.

Results are the biggest single motivator. It may be tough to start out but once you get into the routine in becomes easier. You start to see results of your hard work and it makes you want to keep doing it. Good luck!

Set yourself a target that you can aim for and a date you want to achieve it by. That was you can keep motivated.
Also, think of something you really want, a new top you wanted or something like that, and tell yourself you will get it once you have lost the weight, in the size down from the one you wear now. That way whenever you wear that top or whatever it will remind you of how well you did. =)

You could start tracking your progress. Keep a chart with your weight, body measurements, and body fat percentages and notice your improvements as they happen. Seeing your improvements will help keep you motivated.

There's lots of online communities where you can find diet and exercise buddies too.

It's not really about dieting, its about changing your lifestyle to a more healthy one, thats how I view it.

Make up your mind that you are going to be healthy! Start by simple exercise in the mornings. Slowly increase with arm and legs exercises. Walk more and use stairs if you can. Then go for the fresh veggies, fruits, and salads! Go easy on the dressings! Whole grains are good, and chicken, and fish! Ease up on fatty foods and sugary! Fried foods are bad, fast foods taste good but aren't good for you too much, and stay away from processed foods! Go for healthy eating and exercise! Go for it!

I took all of my size 5 clothes and pictures of me small and hung them everywhere. ANd then when my husband left for Iraq I wanted him to be surprised when he got home. So I lost just under 50lbs and he was very surprised. I am still loosing. But that was my motivation. Plus I was scared of becoming one of those severely obese people. I felt I had to do something.
