My calorie intake?!

Question: I'm an 19-year-old male, about 5'8'' and I weigh about 145 lbs. I know that isn't a horrible body mass index, but I do want to get rid of my extra fat. I run in the morning and do push-ups and crunches in the afternoon and it seems to be doing a good job, but I don't know how I should change my diet.

I normally eat two meals a day. I'll eat a lot of grain for my first meal (cereal, pasta...) and for the second meal a lot of protein (beef, chicken...). I don't eat pork because it makes me sick, and I eat a great deal of vegetables. My diet seems really weird, huh?

So any new diet recommendations?

honestly man i think you should get into weight training, it will shed that body fat, make you totally ripped. and about the meals try your best to spread them out in small portions, like 5-6 meals per day. try to eat every 3 hours (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner) it has been researched and proven that when meals are spread out people tend to consume less calories in total than to wait till you get hungry and eat too much. also try to decrease your carb intake, stick to lean meats, fruits and veggies. increase your protein intake also it will help you gain more muscles when you work out. i am the same age and maybe an inch taller than you but i weigh 176-179 lbs right now i have also been working out for about 2 years now and it has been great man. by the way if you want good workout plans, nutrition info or anything like that visit www.bodybuilding.com it a great website i hop i helped out

Calculate your daily needed calories (see source below) and control calorie intake.
Weight loss is all about calories, so take care of them.
If this is too much for you, at least try to develop a "feeling" for calorie rich foods - or switch to a simplifying system such as weight watchers.

3-6 meals a day.

For a man it is alot different than a woman in my opinion a man is way sexier when he does have a little meat on him but anyway what you need to do is not worry about calories or food intake and instead go work out at the gym there are alot of men that drink weight gainers so instead of doing that just eat what you want and lift weights you will look good...
