How do you handle food cravings while on diet?!


Question: I'm on diet, and I'm handling it quite well, but today I'm craving chocolate, and it's so hard to resist!

It's all about will power. You have to recall in your mind the reason you are on a diet. That is why there are so many overweight people everywhere. People in western societies are too soft, just tough it out and not only will you look better, you'll be proud and confident in yourself.

well what i tried to do when i was on a diet was when i got cravings for certain foods such as chocolate i would eat a piece of fruit instead & try not to think about the chocolate!
or some people say that if they crave something if you just smell it, then that takes the craving away

Arghh, I've been there, hard work isn't it.. The thing is not to ignore it and have one of those fun size chocolate bars, because trust me, this craving won't go away if you continue ignoring it and you'll end up having a massive blow out and binging on masses of the devils fancies, trust me, i know only too well, then, bang goes all you're strong willed efforts..

Even though you are on a diet, you can still enjoy a bit of what you fancy, you shouldn't completely deny your body of what it's craving..

Have it. You could go with a couple of small pieces of dark chocolate...but I find it hard to stop. So I eat sugar free fudgesicles....really good!

Sugar free chocolate pudding is good too.

I'm dieting too and when I have a craving for chocolate, I eat cereal. I know it sounds crazy but if you eat a cereal with honey oat clusters or something and with the milk tastes sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. And it's a great fiberous snack. Or if you must, eat a square of chocolate, but ONLY one. That's what I do anyway. Good luck to you and stay with it! I also buy snakwells cookies or 100 calorie brownie snacks. I think Nabisco makes them.
