Help with eating healthy?!

Question: What I have for breakfast is usualy coffee, eggs, bacon, and hash browns. (As you can see it is my fav meal!)

For the rest of the day I just nibble.

So, is what I eat for breakfast okay?
If not, what should I eat?
And, what snacks should I eat throughout the day?

(I can cook so that is not a problem.)

okay well first of all you're not supposed to eat more than three eggs a week. Bacon really isn't healthy, switch it for turkey bacon. I'd say NO hashbrowns, loaded with bad stuff it it's just toater or microwave ones. you should balance out your eating through out the day. have a bowl of oatmeal or cereal with low fat milk and a fat free yogurt for breakfast, have an apple or some carrots for a snack, turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread for lunch, grapes with low fat cheese for a snack, chicken breast and garden salad with low fat dressing for dinner.

eat at 7 - 11

Fresh fruit and whole gain breads will help you feel full longer. Forget the "all carbs are bad" idea, just lay off white bread/rolls, white rice and non-whole grain pasta. One thing that will help you lose weight is SNACKS! Yes, a piece of fruit or a (low sugar) yogurt or (low sugar) granola type bar mid morning and afternoon will help you not munch on chips and stuff. Don't skip breakfast.
Increasing your water consumption would be good. Go for lean meats and remember that according to the dietitians a "serving" of meat is 4 ounces... about the size of a normal deck of playing cards. So watch your portions and fill up on fruits and vegetables.

maybe slim your breakfast and take off the bacon because that has the most fat. and then for snacks have the 100 calorie packs. they are really good and only 100 calories! =]

your breakfast sounds so good, haha but its definitely not healthy. I've been trying to eat healthy also and i usually have a bowl of special k in the morning & maybe some fruit. I'm not a breakfast type person but i know its the most important meal of the day so i make myself eat it. i work & go to school so im not home much, for lunch i usually pack a lean cusine, some fruit, special k bar.

The breakfast that you like is not healthy at all!!..Your eating about 500-600 calories right there. I love breakfast and it is one of my favorite meals of the day before I leave for school. I follow a simple plan that I learned from Oprah Winfrey. STOP eating at 7:00P.M-7:00A.M!..Don't drink fluids or eat any snacks/food!!..So, for breakfast these are my options-

One bowl of cheerios with 2% milk = about 120-130 calories
One slice of wheat toast with 0 calorie "I CANT BELIEVE ITS NOT BUTTER" (spray)= about 80 calories
One banana with applesause= 120 calories
One apple with two slices of wheat toast=170 calories
One bowl of trix with 2% milk=140 calories

FOR MY DRINK EVERY MORNING I HAVE 1 GLASS OF 1% CHOCOLATE MILK OR 1 GLASS OF WATER=)

For light snacks stick to:

Triscuts
100 Calorie Packs of cookies/crackers
One hand full of peanuts
Apple
Orange
Banana
Grapes
Lettuce

I am an athlete and I have been studying the importance of eating healthy balanced meals and I learned eating a healthy breakfast starts off your day with energy/endurance/knowledge!! Especially if your in school at an early time or if you leave for work at a certain time! Breakfast makes you strong!! Also if you are thinking about losing weight the benefits of eating breakfast result in fast weight lose=) GOOD LUCK AND MAKE SURE YOU KEEP BREAKFAST A BIT MORE SIMPLE AND CUT DOWN WITH THE AMOUNT OF MORNING CALORIES!=)
