My muscles are sore for too long.?!

Question: Yes, its been a while since i've worked out, and i am aware that your body needs to be conditioned to work out so its going to be tough the first couple weeks, BUT! on my last workout i did around 20 squats after 45 mins of jogging and my legs were, and have been sore for 4 days now! I know, its the lactic acid, but heres my question, how can i get the acid to breakdown faster? I've heard a banana's worth of potassium after a work out is helpful. The problem is the soreness is truelly grueling and has stuck around for what seems too long and its worrying me. Ive stretched 3-4 times a day, ate fruit, took a muti-vitamin each day after the workout, and had planet of water. any Ideas? Oh and I have alot of fat around the top half of my legs, could it be that the acid has secreted to my muscles which is why its stuck around for so long?

u jsut worked out well.... when my legs are so sore then i just go for a short jog that wont condition me to warm my legs up each day and that helps alot.... the pain goes away after u jog for a little bit
