A good, healthy lunch?!

Question: Hi. I have a big basketball game in the afternoon at around 2:30. I was wondering what I should eat for lunch. I want a meal that will keep my strength up, give me more energy, and a meal that tastes good. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Pre-exercise meals should be mainly composed of "slow-burning" complex carbs, such as fruits, vegetables, whole-grain bread, rice, pasta, and cereals. Given that they are your body's main source of energy, 65% to 70% of the total calories of your pre-workout meal should come from carbs. Complex carbs take longer to convert to glucose, which will keep your blood sugar level consistent and prevent you from having an energy crash in the middle of your workout.

Here is my suggestion, after all that: Thick-crust pizza topped with veggies rather than sausage or pepperoni (use napkins to blot obvious grease off the top of the pizza); and fruit yogurt, a bagel, and a banana.

salad

What time is it where you are now?

Usually turkey or ham sandwiches on whole wheat, or 12-grain bread are a good bet, as well as a yogurt and an apple or banana, tall glass of water or diet green tea(not too much caffiene tho, cuz you could crash).....mustard instead of mayo on the sam'mich cuts a good deal of calories...do you not like lettuce at all? cuz lettuce and tomato go really well on the sam'miches...

good luck in your game!!!
