How do you burn more calories than you take in??? PLEASE ANSWER!?!

Question: If I eat 1300 calories a day (estimate), and I go an do the elliptical for 45 min./day for 6 days a week. That only burns like 200 calories a day going at a pretty fast pace. So am I supposed to get one the elliptical 6 times a day???? I know weight lifting doesnt burn that many calories or fat. So how is this possible to burn more than you take in???, please someone tell me.

You're always burning calories.....even just sitting there.
And by exercising regularly you're doing the right thing as this will make your metabolism faster and build muscle so you'll burn even more calories just sitting there...

(I believe the figure is something like 60 calories every hour for just sitting.)
If you're not putting on weight, your body is probably burning the whole 1300 at a good rate.....
If you want to lose weight... I suggest just increasing your amount of exercise.

Hope this helps
:)

well if i were u i would burn about 500 calories a day from your exercising and eat between 1000-1300 calories....and you dont just burn calories through that elipitcal think of how much you walk a day...just being awake is burning calories.

I doubt you only ingest 1300 calories a day,
almost not possible, unless your skinny like a twig..

Besides weight lifting does burn calories, fat, this is the trick in losing weight..

You cant possibly burn everything you eat in one day,

If you want to get fit in a healthy way you can't burn off the complete amount of calories that you are taking in one day.

1 pound of lean muscle will help you burn off 50 calories per day.....so 6 pounds of lean muscle will help you burn off 300 calories per day.

If you are wanting to burn off belly fat don't just focus on your abs you still need to do a whole body workout.

Remember your upper back and leg muscles are big, more muscle more calories burnt off.

Do a strength training workout 3 times a week (Mon, Wed & Fri), not every day because your muscles need the day off to heal and thats how they grow back bigger.

Have a look at my workout here;

I hope this helps.
