I've been having trouble sleeping and I don't know why?!


Question: My diet is getting better day by day, I eat healthy meals, excercise every other day and I gave up caffeine and I drink lots of water...am I in withdrawel of caffeine or something? I keep staying up all night and sleeping in the afternoons...I don't get it, I mean I have been a bit stressed but I'm so energetic in the night and it prevents me from falling asleep...

Definitely get back into good sleeping habits. Wake up the same time everyday (even on weekends) and go to bed the same time every night. Try to eat your last meal of the day 3 hours before sleeping. If you have a lot on your mind write about it or take steps to take care of it before you dwell on your problems as you fall asleep. If you try exercising in the morning you may find that you are more tired at night.

Try to force yourself to wake up early for a week or until you get back into a routine. By the end, you should be so exhausted at night that you'll fall asleep at a regular time.

I would force myself to stay awake in the afternoon if I were in your situation. Your siestas are what's preventing you from sleeping at night most likely.

Also, you might want to try exercising every day, not just every other day but finish up at least 3 hours before bedtime.

No, the caffeine withdrawal should be helping you, not hurting you.
