it depends on your weight to start with , you need to eat enough to start burning the fat as strange as it seems !

ive always been told that 60 minutes of excersise 4-5 times a week plus keeping your calorie count around 2000-2500 calories per day.

1000 is your minimum calorie intake a day. Try dropping to that for quick weight loss. I do that from time to time. Also don't eat crap and eat lots of fruit and drink loads of water. You will realise why when it happens.

that depends on each person. for example, i ride at least an hour a day, run three mornings a week and lift weights. i am burning something like 3300-3500 calories a day at my size. women generally burn less, but there is a wide range depending on your size and amount of activity you have in your life. if i didnt exercise the way i do, i would only need 2500 calories a day, just to show how much it can range. here is a link to a calculator to give you a starting point.
