Are Situps/Pushups really doing anything?!

Question: I've been doing situps and pushups in my room at night, just to try and help my weight loss.... I'm not seeing a difference... Are they really helping anything, or is it a waste of time?

Doing these to tone up muscle and help lose weight will be useless if you are not supporting your muscles with water and protein. Increase your protein, and water and these make up the bulk of muscle tissue. The water will help with the weight loss by flushing out excess fluid build up.

From my experience you can't just do some situps/pushups, you have to couple them with some other exercises and/or diets. I tried starting like that before but I just ended up gaining weight. What I did was I found a good vegetable I liked, and just ate that when I was craving some junk. Along with some jogging and sit-ups(I do 200 each night before going to sleep, it also helps me fall asleep easier). If you can't really diet then you just have to step up your physical activity :) Been doing this for 1 week and i'm definitely seeing results

Your working out and right there is better than nothing.. like the person said it is helping build muscles.. you will get there just increase water and protein as suggested

Exercise and a healthy diet are important for everyone, even if you are not trying to loose weight. But sometimes none of that seems to completely do the job. However, I ran across a web-sight that had some interesting things to say about being overweight and why it's so hard to loose that weight, you might want to check it out.

situps and pushups won't do much. if you are trying to lose weight, you need to do cardiovascular exercises. eating right is a main factor in losing weight.

yeah i hate to break it to u.. but those exercises will not really make much difference in weight loss.... they will only tighten and tone your body.. and even with that only to a certain extent.. your body will adapt and get used to it..

you need to break through your routine.. start doing more cardio... sign up at a gym..
