Injecting fat into undereye hollows?!

Question: I have hollows under my eyes and I heard about a type of procedure where you can inject fat or Sculptra/Juvederm to plump the hollows up again. What is this procedure called? and does it work well?

The doctor will syphone fat from another part of your body, usually stomach, and re-inject it in the area that needs plumping. Initially there's swelling and discolouration but this should ease in a week or two. The fat eventually disperse and fills the area.

I had this done years ago and was quite happy with the result. But last month I went to see a doctor recommended by a friend but I was disappointed. He filled the wrong area and it doesn't look symmetrical (one area is plumper than the other) an hoping that in time it will be alright.

Do it by all means. It does work. But make sure you go to a reputable plastic surgeon and discuss with him before he does. By the way, it is not very painful. I fell syphoning the fat was more painful than injecting it. I still have few bruises in my stomach and on my face but I know it will disappears (from my previous experience).

Go for it.

It's just called fat or fillers to undereye hollows lol. There isn't a fancy name for it. Although transfer fat from one part of the body to another is called fat grafting.

Whether it works well depends on your individual needs and the skill of the injector. Fat can be unpredictable as to whether it will retain. Sculptra needs several sessions, but can last up to 2 years and juvederm up to about 8 months.

Hope this helps.
