One of the best overall ( this includes price, quality, and flavor) is Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard.

Honestly the best protein shake I've had had good luck with is claled: Muscle Milk. It contains a very decent amount of protein is low in carbs and tastes the best out of all of them. I usually stick witht he premix because it can be a little difficult to mix, but if you have a blender you'll be fine, you can also mix it with milk or water ! They have it in regular or light! Hope you like it :)

whey protein is the way to go, especially if you're like me and can eat 16 meals a day and not gain a pound. just make sure to drink your shake no more than 1 hour after you work out. as for which one to choose, its up to you, they all basically do the same. just make sure you have stuff to mix the powder with, cause they all taste like ****

Whey protein is great. GNC has some awesome whey protein mixes. Stay away from anything containing creatine..you are far too young to start anything like that.

protein shakes are a crock because your body can only handle so much protein and it turns the excess into carbohydrates which your body stores as fat. so my advice is; just eat more of all of your food groups so you have more energy and more efficient workouts and the extra protein that you consume will repair your muscle fibers as they are damage by your workouts. just remember this, protein alone won't do anything but make you fat, you have use your muscles to build them.

Oh this is too easy...

there's a great whey protein powder called nature's best isopure. it's about 200 calories, 0 carbs and about 50 grams of protein. i used it as a snack when i was on a low carb diet and it works great. i don't get hungry, no sugar/carbs and the chocolate one tastes great! downside is that a big 3lb container costs anywhere between $35-50. but i buy them on ebay for good deals. the container is huge though and it lasts a long time, so in the long run it's probably not really that expensive.
