I got a question about my Muscle Mass Percentage?!

Question: I just got a new scale and its all pimped out, high-tech, and all that good stuff. Anyways it typed in my gender, height, age, then it weighed me at 148, and told me the percentage of water in my body, muscle, minerals, fluids, and the weight of my bones (or something like that.) So I weighed in as 52% pure muscle.

I'm 5'6, 15, 148, and got 9% body fat, So I was expecting much more muscle. Probably it was because it wasn't in the morning or something, or whatever I need help determiningwhether 52% for me is good, bad, medium, etc.

Yes, I have had the same problem. I was used to another brand that displays muscle mass and not the %. Assume this is hydration free, so muscle mass = weight x %muscle x 1.73 (assuming 73% muscle hydration, which with your low fat levels might be nearer 76%), so in your case:-
148 x .52 x 1.73 = 133.1 pounds muscle
9% fat = 13.3lb
148-133.1-13.3=1.6lb bone which would be less than a third of what I would expect it to be, so the 52% may (or may not) be FFM (Fat Free Mass including bone etc) rather than Lean Muscle Mass, check the manual (or with the manufacturer).
using 75% hydration would incorporate this figure completely.

Try and measure yourself when normally hydrated (so not straight out of bed), and about an hour or two clear of large meals or exercise, so just before the evening meal may be best and give more consistent measurements.

Seems that 52% is good, to answer the question, more importantly the 9% fat is good for showing off abs (13% and below), but for health could be higher (somewhere between your current level up to about 20%)

well you also gotta take into account it is measuring all the other stuff besides just comparing muscle to fat. Just because u have 9% bodyfat, doesnt mean you're gonna be 91% muscle
