Im embarrased of my fat?!


Question: I am 19 years old, a typical northen lad, with a twist. Im 497 pounds. when im out with my mates i have to take regualr breaks from walking, like every couple of minutes. My huge manboobs show through all my tops, i have loads of huge rolls of fat all over my stomach, including one under my arms which makes me look like im wodling all the time. Heres the most embarrasing part i have to walk with two walking sticks to make me stand upright. By the time ive walked down the town im shattered dead on my feet, even after loads of 10-15 minute beaks. I usually get a taxi home. I'm really embarrased about my awful diet, and zero exercise, is there anyway to stop the embarrasment?

To stop the embarrasment, you know you either have to hide out where no one can ever see you, or lose weight. Since you're 19, and have lots of chances to get healthy, have fun and lots of sex, I'm recommending the weight loss, of course!

Do you live with your parents? I am wondering what could be done to improve your diet. The good part is, when you have that much extra padding, you can lose weight a lot faster than someone smaller- just switching to fruit, veg & meat (no bread, no sugar, no potatoes, no junk food) should HUGELY help you. Do you have anyone who can help you make sure you keep your cupboards full of this, and not get takeaways or eat crisps?

I think once you shed the first 100 lbs from diet, your walks will be easier and you can make them longer, which will help to keep dropping.

Good luck. I know it isn't revolutionary advice, but you need to do it now before your body can't handle the strain- a 19 year old has a much better shot of getting healthy than a 39 year old!

Start working out and eating right. Tell yourself you're no less human.

For someone like you I would suggest getting your jaws wired shut. It is a sure fire way to lose weight without surgery. A friend of mine did it, went on a liquid diet for a year and lost several hundred pounds. It really works.

The best thing for you to do is to talk to your doctor.
That is a lot of weight for your age. He might be able to give you the best advice.

Improve you diet and start exercising. It is the only way. Tune in to The Biggest Loser - it is so inspirational. There are 300-400 lb people on there and they lose lots of weight. It is good to see people can do that. Walk every day, even if you can only walk 10 minutes at a time. 10 today, 15 tomorrow, 20 by the weekend, then 30-60 minutes every day. Cut out soda pop. After you walk for a few weeks start thinking more about your diet. It is a lifestyle change and it will take time. You are only 19. Start your changes now. By summer you could be down 50 lbs and by Christmas down 100. Don't let little failures and slips discourage you. It is what you do in the long run that matters, not one little mistake today. To stop the embarassment? i would suggest not going outside. if you want to lose weight however, start doing some calesthenics, until you can see your feet. also, lay off the mcdonalds, and start eating healthy. if you are going to eat carbohydrates and protein make sure that you mean to excercise before or after you eat it.
