Which is a better workout on an elliptical?!

Question: no resistance but going really fast or- adding resistance but going slower? I usually workout for 25 minutes, is that enough?

adding resistance and going slower will burn more calories then going really fast. If you go really fast, you are increasing your heart rate which will work your respitory and heart only really, to get a good work out that will burn calories and increase your endurance, I suggest going slower and adding more resistance. You also should change your work out up a little, don't always do the elliptical as your body will gain resistance to the work out so you should change excesises one in a while. Also 25 minutes is good if you also do other core and muscle work outs to gain strength and to tone your muscles.

Depends on whether you are interested in cardio or muscle building.

I do resistance because it scares me to go really fast on it haha

Why not vary between both types? Why not do both cardio (burns calories) and weights (builds muscle, which burns more calories)? You can follow your workouts with a soy-whey protein shake for added weight loss and muscle building. I add peanut butter and chocolate soymilk (chocolate Almond Breeze) to mine. I hope this helps.

Resistance is better, for 20 to 30 minutes at least twice a week. Good Luck, be safe on that thing.

If you can you should try to go longer, at least 30 minutes but an hour is much better. I use the elliptical everyday for 1.5 hours, and for me, the first 30 minutes is the toughest. After that I feel fine and sometimes lose track of time and keep going!
