Swimming burns a ton of calories plus you its an all body work out which means you work almost every muscle. That will help you get tone. I love swimming instead of jogging, just the pool at my gym is always full. I would swim twice a week and walk on a treadmill at an incline 3 days a week. If you are consistant with that I'm sure you will see results. Plus a healthy diet with lean protiens and lots of veggies will help the process!

It's great exercise. So much so, I'm actually considering switching health clubs because I found one that has a pool. (Now if I can only find that discount coupon)

Do some research and find out how much you need to burn calorie-wise and determine how many meters that would be in a pool. Other thing is, make sure you do the swim stroke properly to get maximum benefit. Sometimes, I'll get tired or not pay attention and forget to kick with my legs. That slows me down and I don't get the full benefit.
