Is eating rice bad if your trying to lose weight?!


Question: I've heard eatting rice is the worst thing i can eat when i am on a diet. althougth i don't eat it all the time but am i really hurtting my self if i eat it once a week?

No. Eating rice will not hurt you. Just have smaller portions. The food police are always coming up with something.

I managed to still lose over 100 lbs in a little less than a year, still having pizza and Chinese food, and other crap once in a while...
PORTIONS and calories(less fat and sugar the better, but still)
Don't deny yourself what you like, or you will end up binging. Think of it as a lifestyle change, cuz "DIET" stands for "Don't Imagine Eating This" and who wants that?

Brown rice is healthy for you . try to stay away from white rice though. YOu're not hurting yourself by eating anything once a week though

white rice aint the greatest..brown rice is great though!

Have you seen many fat Chinese people? I think that answers your question.

no you arent hurting yourself, but try going for brown rice. its much much better for you.
and add some protien. wether is chicken or tofu if you dont eat meat. it will help you become full alot faster.

i don't think so but try to stay healthy by eating salads and working out also watch the calories ignore ranch dressing i heard it's fattening

No it will not hurt in moderation..... eating right and nice portions helps the metabolism go faster...

You should eat rice if your trying to lose weight. But don't indulge in white rice, but rather eat brown rice. Its better if you eat rice than pasta if you're trying to lose weight.

Its not the worst, but its loaded with starch and carbs, the fat builders, unless you exercise them off. Chinese, lol, all they eat is rice, not like us spoiled Americans. Now, once a week, as long as you dont gourge on it, yer fine.

No, rice isn't the worst thing to eat when your on a diet. Anything you eat, you'll still need to work out if you want to loose weight.

jonasbrorock- please. you didn't need to make it sound that bad. Yeah, chinese people eat lots of rice.. doesn't mean some of us doesn't get big. Magic word- work out? Hello? So, you think all of us are naturally skinny? Oh please. Don't even get me started with YOUR people.
