Whoa, we have misinformation mixed in with some very good information. Let's break it down:

(1) The person who said you don't need creatine if you're under 21 years of age is correct.

(2) The person who said creatine is not proven is wrong. There are exactly two supplements that have a plethora of scientific evidence to back up their claims of building muscle mass. Creatine is one of them. Whey protein is the other.

(3) In all fairness, the person who said creatine is not proven also indicated it's more important to work on having a well-balanced diet than to take supplements. That's bang-on target. If your diet isn't in order, supplements will do little or nothing for you.

(4) Don't pay big bucks for any type of "enhanced" creatine product. What you want is plain old creatine monohydrate powder with little or no sugar added. Champion Nutrition makes pretty good creatine powder, and it doesn't cost a lot. Google it and you'll find websites that sell it at good prices.

Monohydrate Creatine,

BSN makes a product call Cell-Mass, which is their Creatine blend, good stuff, but a touch expensive.

You could always throw in some Wal-Mart brand Body Fortress creatine

Creatine is not proven. I would not recommend using it and focus on a well balanced diet before adding supplements. If you really want to add something, add protein and complex carbohydrates.

Counter Point: Steroids are proven to work too, however it too until the mid 80's for the after effects to be proven, and both are naturally produced by the body. New supplement types are a bad idea, stick with the old basics: proteins, and lots of them. If you are putting it in your body one should really wait for the full results to come back, and that takes time.

pure creatine monohydrate is proven to work and by far the best working and best for ur money. just take it with some apple juice(or grape) before and after workout and u will see good results. drink plenty of water.

Pure creatine is proven to satutate muscle mass with needed nutrients, when used by people who exercise a lot. It's not needed, but does no harm, to those that take it and are inactive (although it may cause gas!) It is NOT a wonder supplement that will make you bigger and/or stronger. It'll just help the process if you train hard.
Anyone under the age of 21 doesn't need to supplement their diet with creatine. Young bodies produce between 12 and 14 grams a day. In adulthood, our creatine production goes down do about 2 or 3 grams a day, so that's why older folk supplement their diets with creatine. An active adult who exercises a lot needs between 10 - 12 grams of creatine a day.
Hope this helps.

Don't use them.I used and I get mild headaches.I do notice increase in strength and mass but the mild headaches....nah! Not worth it for me.

Symptoms vary from person to person.Consult a doctor and let him/her check you out first.

It's your decision.

Creatine does not work. Just makes you look and feel bloated. I hate to tell you but hard work does more than any pill or shake will. Just be consistant and increase the weight in weight training program. I am assuming your weight training of course.
