1200 calories or 500 calories a day?!

Question: I dont know what is wrong with me! For the past 3 months i have gone over 1500 calories. Mostly, i have been having 1200 calories a day. But then, i started having 700/800 calories. Just recently, i have been really overeating. I have been having almost 2000 calories and i want to lose weight as quickly as possible, but i also want to keep it off. I know thye say you are not suppose to suddenly drop calories because your metabolism will slow down. I am just asking for today - What will make me lose more weight today - Eating 1200 calories and exercising for 2hrs or 500 calories and exercising 1-2hrs. I need an honest answer, not one like "Don't eat less than 1200!"

Basically, will i lose weight if my metabolism is slow, but i am eating 500 cals. Or if my metabolism is faster, but i am eating 1200.

Honestly, I'd eat 1200 calories, but space them over the span of the day, and eat very small amounts every 2 hours or so--this is a method of speeding your metabolism up. Try to keep it so you never feel starving--if you're hungry, eat something.

Obviously eating almost no calories (500) a day will make you lose weight, because your body barely has anything to burn. However, the are major problems with this tactic.

First of all, you're right, it ruins your metabolism because your body thinks it's starving, so it burns as few calories as possible.

Secondly, your body wouldn't necessarily burn fat when you're on an extremely low calorie diet. Sometimes it will burn muscle, which is a double whammy because not only are you not losing fat, but muscle helps your metabolism.

Thirdly, you'll have to keep up the diet basically for the rest of your life in order to keep the weight off. Once you go back to eating normally again you will gain the weight back almost immediately because your body will be so starving for calories.

A good way to help feel full and eat less (plus, to be healthy in general) is to drink lots of water throughout the day. If you don't like how it tastes, try adding a tiny bit of lemon juice to it.

Hope this helps!

if u want to loose weight u should trick ur matabolism by have say 500cal on monday
100cals on tuesday
800cals on wednesday
1200cals on thursday
700 on friday
650cals on saturday and as few as possible on sunday

Stick with about 1500 calories a day

The key is: Diet Diet Diet, then exercise:

You need to eat 5-6 small meals a day. Eat some protein with each meal! Cut out all refined sugar!!! Also add more fiber. The fiber and protein will fill you up, helping you to cut down on your unhealthy eating. Also by eating more than 3 meals spread out through the day you will kick your metabolism in high gear. Here is a general meal for a day:

Breakfast: 2 poached eggs
whole wheat toast
1/2 cup fruit

Snack: Cottage Cheese with veggie

Lunch: Turkey, lettuce, tomato, whole wheat bread sandwich
1/2 cup fruit

Snack: Protein Shake

Dinner: Turkey Burger ( no bun )
Side of brown rice
Side of Broc.

Then exercise regularly 4-5 days a week. Do both cardio and lifting. But on days that you do both. Do lifting before your cardio and you will maximize your fat burn. Cardio can be a sport: basketball, soccer, football, anything with losts of movement. Golf is a no no.

So Example :

Monday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
Tuesday - 1 hour lifting
Wednesday - Rest
Thrusday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
Friday - 1 hour lifting
Saturday - Rest
Sunday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
