Im Overweight And im starting to skip school meals is it right to ?!


Question: Hey im a sieze 8 and since ive started high school and going out for lunch i fee im putting on lots of weight im im going over weight so ive started skipping school meals !

And if i eat i just make myself spue !

let me make one thing clear from the getgo...no matter what weight you are, DO NOT make yourself "spue"...this can damage your foodpipe so badly that you may end up in the hospital. Extreme cases have died from this sweetie, its called bulimia. I agree that school lunches can be a pretty rotten way to fuel up, a lot of them are better fed to the dog, but it's just as easy to bring something from home...pbj on wheat, salad shaker, etc.(if this isn't an option, as it wasnt for me, take it up with the meals director at your school. Find others who want healthier options in the cafeteria and get them to sign a petition, if you speak up loud enough they WILL listen, believe me.) I know its not easy to find something that tastes good and is good for you on a high school campus, that's how I wound up a size 16 by graduation. When I was a senior, class of '04, we had to choose from Burger, Chicken patty, Taco Snack(a burrito type thing that greased through the package and looked like road sludge on a tortilla) and it was ALWAYS served with fries and whole milk. Out of a 3500 student school, we got over 1100 signatures, and it was too late for me to enjoy, but by the '05 school year they were offering soup, salad, sandwiches, healthier stuff.
As for those who will tell you to see a doctor...buzz off! It might help to see a nutritionist, yes, but as long as youre not a midget(which Im assuming youre over 4'6? lol), a size 8 is perfectly healthy and you should be just fine as long as you dont "spue" anymore. How do I know? I learned the hard way, and am still learning. Dont be afraid to look silly...if it means bringing a salad from home or asking strangers for signatures while your friends all have burgers and fries, so be it! Good Luck. =)

No, Not eating meals by skipping them is one of the worst things to do ..It messes up your body and your body goes into starvation mood and stores fat to survive..Your body needs food as fuel to burn energy ..so you need to eat. But you need to choose healthy food to eat .. actually it is much better to eat more small meals or snacks than a big meal.. GOOD LUCK at loosing weight.. Oh yeh, It is very hard to lose weight without any exercise,,that is part of a losing weight thing for sure..
It is a hard thing to do but you must cut back on proportions
exercise and eat healthy foods from all the food groups including fats..You will not be able to lose weight without fat intake.

Stop skipping meals & just eat sensibly. Eat a salad & yogurt for lunch. If you stop eating the fries, gravy, breads, & junk food you will lose the weight you gained & won't put on anymore.

Don't be boring ok.

Listen, the only way to maintain a healthy weight is to eat healthily. No point crash dieting, being sick etc. What's the point of that? Not only that it's a tedious cliche.

NO its wrong to do that what you need to do is eat healthy foods not skip food that is really unhealthy and makes you put on weight.

do not skip meals !! it is a fact that if you skip meals you put on weight [i no it's wierd] simply have a salad or something healthy do lotsof exercies i had the same problem. [size 8 is not fat !!!]

Also, you have to eat, the bodys like a train, and obviousely you have to give the train fuel to run on, if you dont get the correct fuel, you wont work properly and damage yourself.

Whats worse for you ? Damaging your insides and nearly dying or being ''over-weight'' as you think?

I think you need to have a talk with your doctor, and this is coming from a 13 year old.

skipping school meals is wrong!!! a size 8 is not fat and this is usual for people of your age. you should not feel as if you are fat. if you are sick ever time you eat i would strongly reccomend going to see your doctor or telling your parents straight away.

To lose weight you do not want to skip meals. You will put your body into starvation mode which will conserve all fat it can.

The key is: Diet Diet Diet, then exercise:

You need to eat 5-6 small meals a day. Eat some protein with each meal! Cut out all refined sugar!!! Also add more fiber. The fiber and protein will fill you up, helping you to cut down on your unhealthy eating. Also by eating more than 3 meals spread out through the day you will kick your metabolism in high gear. Here is a general meal for a day:

Breakfast: 2 poached eggs
whole wheat toast
1/2 cup fruit

Snack: Cottage Cheese with veggie

Lunch: Turkey, lettuce, tomato, whole wheat bread sandwich
1/2 cup fruit

Snack: Protein Shake

Dinner: Turkey Burger ( no bun )
Side of brown rice
Side of Broc.




Then exercise regularly 4-5 days a week. Do both cardio and lifting. But on days that you do both. Do lifting before your cardio and you will maximize your fat burn. Cardio can be a sport: basketball, soccer, football, anything with losts of movement. Golf is a no no.

So Example :

Monday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
Tuesday - 1 hour lifting
Wednesday - Rest
Thrusday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
Friday - 1 hour lifting
Saturday - Rest
Sunday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio

hey, dnt start skipping meals just have smaller portions. Eating healthy and exercise is the only way to stay slim. There is definantly no quick fix for this. So "spewin" is not a way owt. Good luck

Try to always eat breakfast.
Chose lighter healthy foods at lunch and eat plenty of them.
If possible, have a sweeten tea on the way home from school then a sensible dinner.
Plus, size 8 is not fat, you just don't want to put on weight, right?
