500 calories?!


Question: how much would you lose if you did this for a week/month? I don't need anyone preaching on here "don't do it, it's not healthy...blah blah blah" Just answer the question asked please. People go on fasting, master cleanse, and detox diets...that's eating NOTHING, I'm gradually trying to make my stomach smaller and lose weight in the process. Sooooooooooo......500 calories a day for a week, how much will a person lose? I'm currently 121 lbs and 5'5.

You should at least eat 1,000 calories a day. Try eating more fruit and veggies. I am the same weight and height as you and believe me I know what your saying. My ideal weight would be 112. If you eat food with more protein you will feel full longer, causing you not wanting to eat more. Plus if you eat smaller/more meals a day it keeps your matabolism going. Try running/ walking for 30 mins a day also. Then gradually increase to an hour.

I'm not going to preach, but I'm just going to mention that you're slim....

it depends on ur metabolism if its fast or slow!
but in a week u must of lost at least 4 kilos

i truly hope it works! i need to go on a diet too but i eat a bit more then u am 50 kilos i want to go to 47

You won't be able to eat enough protein at 500 calories so your body will start eating your own muscle to fulfill its needs.

But hey, you know all that right?

Next time you ask a question, lose the smarta$$ attitude.

Well, if you want the real truth.... which you should listen, and not be ignorant when people try to tell you FACTS... If you only eat 500 calories, your actually going to destroy your metabolism, and your body is going to go into "starvation mode".. which is when your body will start storing the foods your eat as fat cells... Yes, you will lose weight if your barely eating, but the day you decide to up your calories, or eat a cheese burger, all the weight will come right back, and then some. The healthy amount of calories you need to loose weight is 1200.... and that is to prevent your body from going into starvation mode... Do some reseach, and you will see for yourself.

to lose a pound, you need to burn 3500 calories. so, if you are used to eating 2000 calories a day, then you can lose about 3 pounds a week, assuming you are burning no calories from exercise. if you work out, however, you can easily lose 8 pounds or so a week. i support you for wanting to lose weight and not be a fat hog. if you are obese, it is ok to starve yourself,

You can do the math, however, it takes 3,500 calories to equal a pound. If you depleted your system of about 500 calories a day (the equivalent to about a sandwich) it would take you about 8 days to loose a pound. Not a bad amount! But you can easily exercise about 500 calories away with approximately 30-45 minutes of exercise on a tread mill or eliptical, etc. Good luck!
