Well, yes, and no. It is very good to "trick" your metabolism. Keep changing your diet. I wouldn't say that fasting for a day would be the best way to change up your diet. Some days, eat a very small dinner, medium lunch, large breakfast. Others eat a medium breakfast, smalish lunch, and medium dinner. Keep it balanced though

1200 calories breakfast hmm ya it will stop you from pigging out at lunch and eat a 100-200 dinner sounds reaonable..
but 1200 calories break fast is kind of too much..
3500 calories =1pound
and in canada you got a 2000 calories diet..

Nope, it's best to eat about 5 small meals per day so your metabolism is always at a steady rate. Eating only one meal a day causes your metabolism to drastically slow down and it will store fat. It's the healthiest to listen to your body and eat a small amount whenever you're hungry.
