Situps and pushups are great exercises, especially pushups because they are a compound movement, incorporating the triceps, abdominals, and of course chest. If you are looking to see results fast I suggest doing a pretty hardcore routine of both of those exercises. Try this:
Diamond Pushups - 4x 20
Regular Puhsups - 6 x 25
Situps - 6 x 20
Cool Down w/ Pushups, slow pace - 2 x 15

to figure out if you need to lose any weight at all or if you just need to tone what you have. 140 is not an unhealthy weight for you. At 15 you should have about 25% fat to assist your body in puberty. once you're about 17/18 you'll probably lose anywhere between 2 and 15 lbs. If you have your heart set on losing weight immediately try drinking water. If you're not excersizing a minimum of 2.2 L a day is recommended to replace lost fluids. With daily excersise that it pushed to 2.5 L for females. When I decided to lose weight I drank 1oz per lb. which is how much water I feed my pets on average to keep them healthy. So 140 oz = 16.5 cups or 4.1 L. Try buying a 1 or 2 L water bottle.
