What would happen if I went on a diet of only water and carrots?!


Question: If I went on a diet of water and carrots for 1 weeks would I loose wait or just gain wait because of the gas in my stomach.My sister says that I would get fat but loose wait at the same time because I would gain wait because all the gas in my system would now be supporting my stomach and all that and I would loose wait because I would not be eating that much.

First off, if you eat too many carrots it will actually turn your skin orange. I am serious!

I understand that you want to loose weight, but there are healthy ways to do it. Trying to sustain yourself on one vegetable is not the way to go because you are not getting balanced nutrition.

I suggest that you eat some carrots, raw spinach, bananas, orange juice, beans, and raw parsley (one of the most vitamine packed things you can eat). Pick out some other fruits and vegetables that you like. You also need protein and some fat. You can get protein through soy milk (the flavor tastes like milk that had cereal in it. I love it) and you can get it from beans. You should also eat a little bit of fish. I would also recommend a little bit of olive oil and a little avacado. These have very healthy fats that your body needs. You must take in some fats to have a balanced diet. Also eat some whole grain cerials. They are very low in fat and they are full of vitamines and minerals. It is also a good source of fiber.

If you have an all vegetable diet, with a little fish, you WILL lose weight. And it will be be more satisfying than just eating carrots. Then you will enjoy this diet and want to continue with it. I am a vegetarian and I feel fantastic. I don't drink sodas at all, and I balance my diet with many fruits and veggies. I feel great, I feel like I have clean energy, and I noticed that my skin glows. You'll start to notice that everything about you will change. If you just stick to carrots then you will hate them and when you finish your little carrot kick you will go back to doing what you did before. Or you will figure out some other wacky diet. This is not the way. Ask any nutritionalist.

Please Please Please. Don't do that carrot diet. It is really going overboard. There are much better ways to lose weight than sustaining yourself on just one vegetable. What's the point?

Don't do it for more than a couple of days because that is an horribly unbalanced diet. You mainly get vitamin A and if you are also taking vitamin supplements to boost this dubious diet you'll be getting excessive vitamin A which isn't good for you.

you would lose weight, yeah but you could also get scurby, by not having other nutrients in your body. and eating carrots as your only souce can turn you orange. no lie.

I'm pretty sure you would die. If you did make it thru that alive you would look all old and decrepit, and probably have a bloated stomach like those starving kids on the TV.

That won't work, even if you lose weight you'll just gain it back when you go off the diet.

You have to keep your metabolism up by eating small meals throughout the day.

i did that, but i ate celery too. i didnt get gassy. you would lose weight but youll lose a bit of muscle too. its like starving yourself-you arent getting the nutrients you need unless you add a bunch of powders and boosters to that carrot

i would say you'd lose weight. The only problem with that is even though water and carrots are healthy your body needs more nutrion. Your need certain Vitamins and with those choices you might become mal-nutritioned. Plus i bet you would get really hungry and start eating more causing your body to gain.

carrots are very healthy and light so, you would definitely loose some weight . . . although i wouldn't recommend that you go on this diet for a long period of time (a week would be fairly safe, i think).

Carrots give you good eye-sight.
And water makes you wee a lot.

I think the gas will come out of you if you fart, and someone said you would drown if you drank too much water but I think thats quite a silly thing to say. You drown if you overkill water but I think you mean only drinking water as a substitute to all other drinks.

But I think you'll be reeeeeeally hungry, and you'll still have to exercise to lose some weight. Either way give it a shot and if it works maybe you have solved obesity.

Lets see better eye site and pee often. You would do better with A very low carb diet (20/30g A day). My friend at work swears by it and when he first started it he lost about 10lb first week.

Actually what would happen is your body would go into starvation mode and eat your muscle.You would be incredibly hungry and craving. you would end up eating a lot of carrots and than be sick of carrots and it would suck. After the diet you would figure to reward yourself you can eat all the junk you've been craving ,and pig out. You would be noticably thinner and would think your work is done,fall back into old habits and two to three months from now would be worse off for not finding a sensible way to eat for life and exercising regularly.My advice. Eat all natural,no flour,no processed anything.Lean white meats if any,possibly veggietarian.Plenty of whole unprocessed grains.Legumes,dark leafy greens,and fruits.Find a demanding physical activity that you really enjoy and can make time for. Whether it be swimming ,running (blah) or salsa dancing.I am lacto-ovo-veggetarian.I don't believe in killing.

Most probably you will turn jaundice if you take too much carotene and if you keep at this for even longer you may die of Vitamin A poisoning. You will most probably lose weight due to a reduction of carbohydrates, fat and protein in your diet.
