Why is it i went to the gym today?!

Question: ive recently started going to the gy on a dumbell bench press (17.5kg in each hand) i find this relativly easy yet on a bench press i find it hard to bench 20kg, is it to do with a certain chest muscle being weak, or may it be the weight of the bar as shouldnt i be able to bench 35kg. (bench press meaning laying flat, on chest press the machine weight i can do 50-60kg) what can i do to improve my bench press,

Are you taking into account the weight of the bar. If it is an Olympic style bar, it weighs 45 pounds (about 20 kg). Ask someone at the gym.

because free weights are different than machines..

well you're using different muscles so you just need to keep doing bench presses to build up muscle then you'll be able to bench more and more weight but don't stop the other stuff you do at the gym, just give more time to bench presses.

oh darling this is matter of different muscles you r using there isnt a single muscle in chest..
moreover pectoralis major has different parts..

The weights on a machine are not the same as free weights (yes, it does seem odd). Personally, I would never use a machine as there really is no way to tell what the "true" weight that you are using is (between the weights not being "true" and how the machine helps you along, so, you don't do as much work). Free weights are the way to go. The only people I would suggest useing the machines are older people, or, someone who doesn't have a "spotter" .

Because your a nancy boy perhaps
