Fat covering my abs???!

Question: I'm a 13 year old girl 5'4 and 93 pounds. I'm not looking to lose weight but I've been doing A LOT of crunches every day for a long time now and I think the problem is a layer of fat covering my abs so they aren't really showing. Does anyone have maybe a diet plan to follow or advice to get rid of the fat??

I think a HUGE part of this is eating sweets. I had that layer of fat for a long time and then when I started eating less sweets, it literally melted away. It doesn't matter that you're tiny to begin with, I think if you keep your diet the same and replace sweets with fruits or proteins you'll see a difference.

Oh, BUT please, don't worry too much if you don't have rock hard abs. Women are supposed to be soft and delicate, not hard and muscly. :)

you need to do cardio if your doing crunches.
crunches alone wont do nothing

yes, fat does sit on top of muscle so you must burn it off! you can do this by adding cardio to your routine several times a week and by eating a slightly reduced calorie diet. there is a great book called "the abs diet" by david zinczenko that will teach you how and what and when to eat so you can get the abs you desire.

You can't just rely on crunches to get rid of the fat.
But don't get me wrong, it's good for exercising and it does harden your abs. The thing is, it's building and stregnthening your abs beneath the fat... so it kinda makes you look slightly bigger after all the crunches. Get what I mean?
Incorporate some cardio, like running for 15-30 min a day. If you can't do that, get a skipping rope and skip for the same amount of time. As for dieting,.. you don't really need to go on a diet. Just eat regularly and everything from the food groups. Eat small portions for each meal. Your breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Lay off of junk food. I know it's tempting to resist from it sometimes, so I suggest you to get it out of your sight, and don't buy them at all lol. That's what I do, as I cannot control myself when it comes to chips or chocolate.

Good luck.
