What is the difference between a man and a woman who weight the same?!

Question: I'm asking because me and my boyfriend weigh the same. He can lift more than i can so i am curios as to why that is considering we weight the same.

Men have more lean muscle mass per pound. Women tend to have a higher fat % per pound. This is because we need the extra fat to support pregnancy and breast feeding. Its not fair, but it is how it is.

either you are big or he is small

muscle strength

women

bone weight

Weight has nothing to do with strength. Maybe his weight is more muscle, too.

the difference is you guys are the oppsite sex and your body wors differently

Men are designed to have more muscle mass because of the good ol' hunter-gatherer societies and nature.

Women have a little more fat for things such as child birth.

Women have more fat than men proportionally speaking, even if the woman isn't aesthetically fat.

His weight is muscle mass and Bones, your weight is Bone and body fat. Not saying you are fat but most women aren't built like men or do the physical jobs a man does.

Well being stronger between male and females have nothing to do with how much you guys weigh. Its all about the hormones and how you were designed.

you probably have a higher percentage of body fat, and he probably has a higher percentage of muscle.

Men generally have more muscle mass for the same weight; it has to do with hormones. Women have more fat for the same weight, also hormones. He can lift more, but he can't incubate a baby.

Men have more testosterone in their bodies, and testosterone is the hormone that is responsible for bulk muscle development. That isn't to say that women can't develop large muscles, but it takes a lot more effort since we have so much less testosterone than men do.

Also, perhaps your boyfriend works out more than you? Just a thought. =) Hope that helps!

women have a higher fat content. Men are naturally stronger due to millions of years of evolution, the strongest man got the woman, women have extra fat because of breasts and to insure they can handle creating babies

males have more dense bones thus there weight to height ration should be more. females the same height have less dense bones therefore if they weigh the same as a man that is the same height they probably have more fat.

By nature, men are physically stronger than women, despite being the same weight as each other. A man's body is naturally-built for extreme strength, whereas, a woman's body is said to be built in a more gentle style. A woman's skin and sense of touch are said to be more sensitive than a man's too, which on an amusing note, is why most women are more ticklish that men too, LOL!

If a woman wishes to be almost as strong as a man (physically) we have to work harder and longer with exercise and weights than a man would need to do.

Women naturally have more fat on the body. Men have less, but much more muscle. Weight has nothing to do with strength. He can lift more because he has more muscle.

He has more muscle than you and you have more fat than him. Or your clothes could weight A LOT! :) Make sure you are weighing yourselves on the same scale at the same time of day. Different scales are slightly different and the surface of the floors can affect it, too. Depending on how long ago and how much you last ate makes your weight differ at different times of the day.

thats a good question

One of you sound to be out of whack! Either he is under-weight, you are over-weight, or he is a foot shorter than you. Without knowing the weight though, can't tell you which is correct and could just be a both at opposite ends of their healthy structure, but still in the healthy range.

Men inherently have greater muscle mass, while women have greater fat percentage (sexy curves).

Men have more muscle mass. That's why he's stronger.

Woman has a higher percentage of body fat than men

It is because men are physically stronger than women. That is not meant to sound sexist, it is just a fact.

It depends on the individual, although statistically men are stronger than women. Even though you weigh the same, i expect your arms are smaller than his. Your legs might be stronger.

pee pees and va jay jays........glad to help!
