Water should be taken atleast 8 to 10 glasses everyday. For every kind of general body ailments like cold, cough, allergy, hypertension, obesity and so on, water taking is the best medicine to be consumed first. Particularly who are on diet, if taken 10 to 12 glasses a day certainly helps them. If a person is thirsty, it means that the water quantity in the body got reduced and there is a need for a lot of consumption of water to the body. Every one knows that human body consists of 3/4 part with water and the rest 1/4 with the blood. Recently, water therapy is being offered to those obese patients who are in the trial of getting reduced their weight, wherein, water when getting up from the bed itself, has to be taken one litre, before taking coffee, tea or any hot bewerages. And from then on, water of 8 litres should be taken in, giving a duration in between. This will reduce atleast 2 kgs of weight every month without any kind of body exercise.

Well it depends on several factors...such as your weight, salt intake and daily activity. For instance, a girl who is 90 pounds and works a desk job sitting down all day isn't going to need as much water as say, a 220 pound male landscaper who is working outside in the hot sun all day. That's just common sense, yet most people try to abide by a golden water rule aka how much to drink in one day.

So, I'll give a range. I'll say 1-4 quarts of water every day. Will it help you lose weight faster? Maybe, because it may help to curb your hunger as people often mistake thirst for hunger as it flags similar parts of the brain. But drinking water has many health benefits for your organs, like your liver, kidneys, bladder and other waste excreting parts.

8 cups of water is the avereage intake of water you should be drinking. It CAN help you loose weight, but not always. Exercise!

I've tried taking the recommended dose of 8 glasses of water a day but to me is as if I were drowning. I think you'll lose weight faster if you drink a full glass of water before you eat. You'll be half full before eating so you wont eat as much.

I drank water all day long.. um i would get drinks at starbucks and just get tea. and it has so much water.. just drink about 4 bottles of water a day and a huge glass of water before you go to bed so that case in the morning you will pee like crazy and you will lose weight. =] hope this is a good help on your losing weight good luck =]

Old theories tell us to drink about 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. However, certain studies were done and they found out that it doesn't matter how much water you drink, as long as you don't forget to drink within the day. You can take in as much as you want.

Routinely, it is recommended by Physicians,that 6-8 glasses of water..at least 8 oz's each. I know,in greater amounts too loose weight, but doing so you also need to watch what kinds of foods you consume,and your exercise regimen.

The main reason it will help you lose weight is because it suppresses your appetite so if you're hungry or craving something you should always try having a drink of water first, in fact a lot of people mistake first for craving carbs. If you're overweight it's even more important to make sure you get lots of water because you'll perspire more, and not drinking enough will cause your body to look for water from other places such as the bowel, which can cause constipation which is never good for weight loss. It must be plain water, sparkling water, tea etc doesn't count.

for every 10-12 pounds of your body weight you will need one coup of water or one 500ml bottle of water for every 20-24 pound.

note:
- don't drink water with meals
- before meals by say 30min , after by an hour
- first thing in the morning

for the second part, will more water is going to prevents you from high caloric snacks between meals.

Water is good for you because it helps you burn fat, i was on o diet before and the doctor told me that the more water you drink the more weight you lose, it works for me but you have combine it with a little bit of walking every day. I lost 11 lbs in the first week so it does help you lose weight faster than with just dieting alone...
