Yes it definately can.

It can change due to sickness, stress, being nervous/scared, and many other things.

As long as the resting rate is between 50-72bpm, you're fine. =)

I'm also a runner and 55-60bpm is also my resting heart.

Your rhr is quite low actually!!

no i just did mine it was 58 bpm , i think it's normal , i'm healthy (well as far as i know)

60 is not a bad resting heart rate. you are fine.

heart rhythm can change just by getting out of bed. it is one thing, along with BP, that can change within the minute. really 60 BPM is very healthy. while your sleeping and your body has little activity it will drop, your heart rate is obviously going to rise when you get up so nothing to worry about there.

nothing to worry about.

If you keep that resting heart rate up you'll live to be 150. Of course it's good....the lowest I've ever got my to is in the mid 50 range, bu it's generally in the 60 to 65 range...I'm a very physical person too...

60bpm? It depends on your age. Mine is 77 bpm at rest at age 21. Since you were sleeping it will be lower than normal "at rest." I'm a very physical person and my Doc tells me my heart is the heart of a conditioned athlete so it doesn't pump out as much per minute because it is more efficient. So you could be in the same boat in which case your BPM would be lower on average.

your heart rate can vary under certain curcumstances, oftern due to change in temperature or change in altitude, 60 bpm is a good resting heart rate to have, the lower your heart rate the fitter you are the most common heartrate is around 60-70 bpm, your bodyy should not change its heartrate if the conditions outside havnt changed so therefore it shouldnt have changed for a cold, so there aint nooo need to worry

good luck with your half marathon. xx

yeah your heart rate can increase due to sickness. but 60bpm is not that high compared to many other people. if you are training for a half marathon your resting heart rate will probably drop to around mid 40's in your peak physical condition. stress and other things can increase your heart rate as well.

has your blood pressure increased as well? could definately be a sign of oncoming sickness.

My resting heart rate is 91 and my working heart rate is 161. Your heart rate is very low.
