What aerobic activities can I do with shin splints?!
Question: I have shin splints because I ran 4 miles a day for a week straight on cement. Normally that would not be that hard for me because I use to do cross country, but that was a year and a half ago. Anyways, I'm trying to lose some weight and get back into shape. I can workout and stuff, but I also need to do aerobic activities to lose the fat, what can I do with shin splints that will help me lose the weight? The only thing I can think of is biking.

I have shin splints as well. Biking is a great way to keep in shape while you heal, but I think you will find water running to be the most beneficial. Good luck!

I go to Country Inn & Suites when I swim. Most hotels have open swimming which costs like $5 a day.
I am very serious about biking (3500) miles last year so thats my number one choice, but parts and being stranded with flats can be bad.
I would say to go swimming since it is a very low impact way of doing cardio and controlled breathing.
Swimming or walking?
How about trying an elliptical machine? I know this cuts down on knee strain...perhaps shin splints, too. The elliptical can burn alot of calories in a short period of time. For example, I can burn 500 calories in 32 minutes.
