Should I exercise when I'm sick?!

Question: I may be getting the flu (I think)... I am starting to cough and I have muscle aches.

-Is it a good idea to follow my normal routine of exercise when I'm sick?

I exercise regularly 4-5 times per week (kickboxing and light weight training). The kickboxing class at the MMA gym I go to is a fairly intense 60 minute workout. The weight training class is a non-stop 30 minute circuit workout supervised by an instructor which is very intense.

-Or should I let my body rest and continue my routine after I get better?

I didn't get enough answers so I'm asking again in the fitness section. Thanks again!

NO you will just prolong your sickness, trust me, I've done it

Just don't give in to bad snacks while you are ill and sleep all you can

Here's a hug for you, Carpe ((()))

i have been told in the past by people who know what they're talking about that u should rest when ur sick. Sick people who go to the gym get more sick.
rest....then commit to ur usual routine.

u could get even more sick if u work out.
let your body rest, it will thank you!

get well soon!

if u have the cold/flu then its not a problem. go to do ur regulars.
but if u have a fever with that..even a slightest fever...DONT WORKOUT..rest and ull be good in sometime

Its probably best to rest. If you keep working out you'll use all the energy for muscle building instead of using it to get better and thus your illness will last longer. If you want to do something go for a jacuzzi or a sauna it'll relieve some of the aches and pains.

Your body is trying to fight off whatever infection or bacteria is in your body and causing your body to work only takes away from the healing process. Help your body out by eating really healthy and resting because that's what it needs when you aren't 100%.
