I need help with losing weight fast?!

Question: I'm 16 and I'm 5'4 and pushing 130. I would like to lose 15-20 pounds and keep it off. I recently started going to the gym everyday for the past 2 weeks. I usually eat very healthy during the day, but at night I ruin my whole days worth of work!!! I come home from the gym around 8ish and then I start to eat uncontrolably. I'm thinking about trying the Rave diet, but I don't know if I have enough self discipline. Anyone have any ideas on weight loss? I'm hoping to lose it in a month or two or definitely before summertime! HELPPPP..

Hi Paula,
Congrats on the efforts you're making to become a healthier you!
Keep up with the gym and your healthy eating, but Increase your water intake before meals and snack on salads and veggies more. This helps to make you feel more full before eating, and also helps flush the system of the WRONG types of fats and acids.
ALSO....VERY IMPORTANT !!!
You say you come home and start snacking uncontrollably around 8 p.m.??
There is your biggest problem right there!!
Paula, our bodies run on cyclic patterns. During the evening, they first relax, and then shut down our metabolism (the metabolic rate) to prepare for the sleep cycles. This happens from around 8 p.m. until around 6 a.m.
You are usually sleeping shortly after eating all this food, but the body can't process it anyway...because your metabolism is shut down, so it can only absorb what it gets from the food as fat storage.
So...do you see now?...you really do need to stop eating after 8 p.m. and you will see the results of your efforts made during the day!...Ok?
There is a saying I will add here to help you remember this:
' Eat after 8.....gain weight '

best wishes.

eat only cottage cheese!

losing weight very fast is unhealthy. try to take it easy adn discipline yourself. when you come home, instead of eating uncontrollably, eat something thats healthy and filling. maybe like a piece of wheat bread and yogurt.

15-20 pounds is a very VERY ambitous goal, to the point of being unrealistic. Aim for 1-2 pounds a week. All i can say iss get rid of junk food. if you don't keep it in the house, you won't be able to cave in to craving. Plus, i've heard that cravings only last around ten minutes. So when you start craving something, put in a movie or paint your nails or talk to someone on the phone. DO SOMETHING that makes it impossible for you to eat. just keep youself distracted and busy and you'll find that you won't miss food. Keep only dark chocolate in the house (which is sorta healthy) and lots of fesh fruits and veggies.

You can lose 15-20 pounds before summertime, but it won't happen "fast".

At best, you should be losing maybe 2 pounds a week through a good diet and exercise. If you try starving yourself to lose weight, your body actually enters a starvation mode and uses your muscles and such as fuel, and you won't lose any fat.

Aim to just lose about 500 calories a day through better eating habits and working out. 500 calories a day will add up over a few months to 15-20 pounds (3500 calories = one pound of fat).

Good luck! :)

There is something called a 3 day diet

google it.

but anyways its not that bad you loose 3-5 pounds everytime you do it.

im 15
5'5 130 lbs too

your not that bad, trust me.

when you eat uncontrolably, eat the sweeter healthier foods like fruit.
When eating a salad replace dressing with lemon juice.

You should only be losing one or two pounds a week, so it will probably take you about 3 months to lose 15-20 pounds. I am the same way, coming home, and non-stop eating. What I did was eat carrots, a lot of them. They have very few calories, are very healthy and are a great snack. You also might not be eating enough during the day which can cause you to over eat in the evening. Try eating small meals every few hours.

Well... okay... but first thing I'm going to tell you is that I am 5'4" and my ideal weight is 120 (I'm 130). I really don't think you should lose more weight.
Aside from that I once lost that pesky 10 lbs in one week by completely cutting out carbs and drinking a bit more water.
Here's the reason: Oue bodies have candida yeast growing in them. I've heard it's from taking antibiotics. Candida yeast thrive on sugar. So, anything that can turn to sugar in your blood will turn into fat. That includes pasta, crackers, bread, etc. So, what can you eat? Meat (not processed!), dark green leafy vegetables, salads. nuts, cream - not milk. It's sort of the Dr. Adkins diet without all the fat. For a snack I would eat pork skins and dip them in cream cheese (sparingly). Use Nutrasweet. It's a chemical, but you're using it short term, right? That's what I did. Amazing i should run across your question because I just went out and bought this very same 'diet' of foods. You'll notice an increase in your energy and feel really good. Diet soft drinks are okay, too. It took me a while to get used to cream in my coffee instead of milk. Also, for salad dressing I used mayonnaise, cream, salt papper and basil. You'd be surprised how good it tastes. I hope this helps you out. Like i said - I lost 10 lbs in one week and had lots of energy. Eat fish, too, if you like fish - and of course chicken. Fat will not interefere with this diet as much as carbs/sugar will. What this does is........ the lack of sugar in your body starves the candida yeast and you start to lose weight. You can google this and find out that this is true. Good luck!
