Best form of of Pull ups?!


Question: Ok, so your facing the pull up bar. Which way is more effective, and which one should I start off on if it really matters?

A)Do you put your hands on the side of the bar that your facing? Or

B) Do you put your hands around the bar on the other side of the bar?


I realize B is easier,

And I got this pull up bar like 3 hours ago.
160 pounds.
13 and 8 months years old. =)

B) is easier because it involves your biceps more but with A) you have use to traps and rohmboids more. Start your pullup training with B) and slowly progress to A) with a slightly-greater-than-chest wide grip. Then you can increase the width of your grip as you get stronger. Remeber to contract your shoulder blades and keep a slight curve in your lower back.
