A question about buff people!?!

Question: If someone were to get totally riped, like Sylvester Salone, and then stop working out for years and let their muscles degenerate, would they get loose flabby skin, or not?
(Bassically, if a person becomes buff, are they making a commintment for life?)

There are ways to tone back down again and reduce the muscle mass...but doing that is a big commitment in itself and involved very strict diet and cardio excercise...which is why most people who have been REALLY buff, usually end up getting pretty fat.

if they want to get THAT buff, its a commitment for life. :)

I know if you loose a bunch of weight then you get flabby skin but I'm not sure about muscle. I'd assume it'd turn into fat.

well...they would lose tone but its not like they would get completely flabby.......

It does usually go flabby if you completely stop working out.

They wouldnt necessarily get loose skin, but possibly fat. A lot of that muscle will turn into fat.

you get flabby as you get older. i would not recommend "bulking up" b/c you will have that extra weight to carry. I would go for a leaner well defined build, more like Chuck Norris than Stallone

No it's like muscle gaining, except it slowly reverts backward.

No, normally if a person works out and becomes (in your case) ''buff'', their tone will last for just over a month, or two if it's that good. But they'll need to keep going at it if they want to maintain their look.

if they are older then they would because the skin is stretched out, whether by fat or muscle. skin loses elasticity as you age.

Excellent question. One I want to hear too. I can tell you this though: As you now Arnold Schwarzenegger is California's president and was one of those buff guys. Just within the past few months I saw a picture of him top naked and well, while not ugly it's not like before. The guy is older and probably works out less. His pecs have turned more towards **** and do sag a bit. If you recall, he used to have these really nice muscular firm pecs. His upper arm is a little flabby too. This is all to be expected if you reach middle-age. It's part of the aging process. Even buff guys can't escape that!

Maybe you can do an internet image search for Arnold? The picture I saw was in a magazine and I think it was a hidden shot of him in his swimming suit.
