You will lose weight if you avoid taking in more calories then you are losing. For total weight loss I would stay away from carb heavy foods. If you get a good amount of chicken, tuna, peanut butter, you can fill up on protein without putting crap into your body. I don't know about 40 lb's but it is manageable.

You will lose weight, but 4 lbs a week is too fast. And you probably won't keep it off. A more reasonable goal is 1-2 lbs. per week. Diet soda makes some people hungrier, so I would stay away from that. Otherwise sounds like a good plan.

If your trying to lose weight I would think twice about drinking and alcohol. And also cut out all soda, diet or not.Eat more than 3 times a day {small portions}and add fruit to your diet.Other than that sounds like your off to a good start.Good luck.

There is no safe way to lose forty pounds in three months. If you ingest 500 fewer calories a day than you burn, you can lose a pound a week, and can continue that for as long as is needed.
